Ian Cowie is a columnist for The Sunday Times, where he has  written about his stock market investments since 2013. His ‘forever fund’ includes about 50 shares, including 20 investment trusts, trading on 10 different stock exchanges around the world. He also writes for Interactive Investor and the Association of Investment Companies (AIC). He was named best freelance journalist by the AIC in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Ian was judged to be Consumer Affairs Journalist of the Year at the 2012 London Press Club Awards, having been personal finance editor of The Daily Telegraph since 1989. Before concentrating on stock market investment, Cowie successfully defended a £10m libel writ in The Royal Courts of Justice in 1992.
